Flexible Spending Account

 

A flexible or wellness spending account (FSA or WSA) provides reimbursement for eligible expenses that promote overall health and well-being.

Some examples of eligible expenses include:

  • health related services – weight management programs, nutrition programs, and alternative health practitioners
  • fitness-related services – gym memberships, fitness equipment and personal training fees
  • work/life balance related services – elder care costs and day care costs
  • professional development – courses and seminars, conferences and classes and professional exam fees

Benefits paid under an FSA/WSA are considered a taxable benefit and will be reported as such on your T4.
